NPower Indiana Tech Angel Awards

NPower Indiana’s inaugural Tech Angel Awards will provide more than $60,000 in products and services to three Indiana nonprofits (one in each of three categories), for the application of information technology that will generate the most significant positive impact for the recipient organizations and/or their constituents. The technology solutions will be targeted to be completed between March 1 and June 30, 2010. Awards will consider the impact of the technology solutions, as well as the sustainability and maintenance of the applied services.

Deadline for Applications: Friday, February 5, 2010 by 5:00 p.m. EST

Winning organizations will be informed of their selection by February 12.

Awards will be presented at NPower Indiana’s Byte Night 2010, Friday evening, February 26, at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

TECH ANGEL AWARD CATEGORIES

Infrastructure Transformation

Winning organization will receive:

  • Up to $11,000 retail value in workstation, server and/or security hardware
  • Installation and network implementation services
  • Office productivity and server software from Microsoft
  • 12 months of remote managed maintenance services
  • 12 months of remote backup services

Total award value in excess of $30,000

Web and E-Communications Transformation

Winning organization will receive:

  • Complete web makeover services: up to 100 hours of professional website design and development
  • Integration of NPower COMET content management tool, along with training of staff in maintaining and updating the website
  • 12 months of licensing for NPower COMET
  • 12 months of website hosting
  • Custom e-mail marketing solutions package and 12 months of usage from ExactTarget
  • Video production services and one 12-month license of Backlight web integration software from Cantaloupe
  • 12-month subscription to FormSpring web form builder and data management services
  • Professional consultative services for selection and integration of social media tools

Total award value in excess of $20,000

IT Knowledge Transformation

Winning organization will receive:

  • Complete Stable & Secure assessment services, including a thorough Stable & Secure survey; a robust report of findings, with specific recommendations and budgets for technology correction and improvement; and face-to-face follow-up consultation
  • Creation of a Network Notebook, compiling organizational IT assets, processes, practices, and pertinent vendor information
  • A custom IT Disaster Recovery plan, providing reference and action steps to preserve and/or restore critical data and documents
  • Staff training on network troubleshooting and development of effective security and password practices

Total award value in excess of $10,000
